Arianna Rose Part 1 edition by Jennifer Martucci Christopher Martucci Paranormal Romance eBooks

I downloaded this book for free from the Kindle site. I would give this book a solid 2.5 rating. Would I recommend you to downloaded it? A hesitant Yes if it is free and you have time to kill. If it requires your money, then I don't recommend you part with your money. As with many YA books, the authors have gone towards multiple books for one story rather than just a good ol' fashioned book. I could almost overlook this if there was some sort of mild conclusion to the book or some minor closure in this Part One. Rather we are left with absolutely no closure on any level. It seemed more of a prologue or a preview perhaps than a book.

It is a story of a female teenager coming of age and into powers. What powers? Witch powers that seem to include fire and telekinesis. Arianna is being raised by a smoking, drinking, loose, nomadic, no-rules mother named Cathy Rose. Arianna has moved from town to town with her inebriated Mom never putting down roots. As with all wayward written youths she smokes, curses, wears black, rides a dirtbike and plays a banjo. Okay, she doesn't play a banjo but wouldn't that be something? The duo lands in a new town as their story begins. The new kid at school is not a new role for Arianna. She finds a clique and life moves forward except for a random man watching her ride her bike from the roadside.

Meanwhile some maniac with evil intentions is in pursuit of Sola. Who's Sola? Spoiler alert..Sola is Arianna. This warped maniac and his minions are attempting to rid the world of witches. It would seem that Sola is the head prophet for the witches.

One night on the town with friends, Arianna is confronted by a dangerous element and her 'witch'y side comes out in defense and random roadside man appears. And that's where the book stops. Abruptly. The authors might as well as stopped mid sentence and put The End.

I don't mind the stereotyping, cursing, violence, or bad role models. What rubs is that the book serves to sell the other remaining books (which is fine) but without giving the reader a story for the trade off. "Arianna Rose Part I" gives you enough to learn characters and establish setting but does not seem to move forward. Action does not happen until the last pages of the book. Then *Poof* the book ends. It reminds me of when a film would snap or melt at the movie theatre. Movie starts, established a setting, characters develop and then right when the alien pops out of the chest -- the film breaks.

If nothing else, I hope this review will allow you the opportunity to set your expectations. This book hints at a potential storyline in other following books. I won't be getting the remaining books. Fool me once....

Arianna Rose Part 1 edition by Jennifer Martucci Christopher Martucci Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews

Arianna Rose is another book I had picked up and read about 20% of it, then put it down. At the time it just was not what I was looking for. Seeing that I started it, I knew I should finish it. So Off I went. Just before I reach the last page, I had a thought that 129 pages would take me longer than I would like to admit. Than “Poof!” Part 1 of Arianna Rose was done with a Cliff Hanger!

So….. Howard scares the living daylights out of me. If you are faint of heart, cannot stomach the tiniest bit of violence in a book. Beware of Howard! His violent acts in this book made me weep and bile rise up in my throat. He is such a monster that I can’t wait to see him gone. Highly disappointed that it didn’t happen in part 1.

Though without Howard I would not be fully invested in Arianna. Mr. & Mrs. Martucci are a great writing Team. They have taken me from lets finish this and forget it, to OMGOODNESS I’m out of book credit to get the second!

Arianna Part 2 is so on my to Buy list!!!
The story is well written and a real page turner. The story is about the 18 year old Arianna Rose, who lives in a run down trailer with her mother. Her mother is an alcoholic who picked up strangers at bars. Arianna met Luke and his sister Stephanie at her new school. Arianna has telekinetic and other powers that she was unaware of. She moved the chair out from under a snobbish girl in class, just by willing the chair to move. When Arianna fell with her bike, totalling it, and her clothes were in shreds, there were no signs of any injuries on her. At a club when she and Stephanie sneaked outside for a smoke, they encountered 2 bad guys who intended to rape them. Arianna used her powers to save them from such a fate. Arianna didn’t know that she was a witch, nor did she know that she has any powers. A mad priest, believing that God is giving him instructions to kill witches, is on Sola (Arianna’s) trail... I would love to read the sequel, Arianna Rose The Awakening (Part 2).
It wasn't even the 127 pages claimed, since it ended at 90%. IF you could call it an ending, which it wasn't. I understand that it is a serial type series, but this first book didn't accomplish enough with the plot to entice me to continue, even with Part 2 currently being free.

Although Arianna showed promise as a main character, I never felt any kind of depth or connection. And the background on the Bad Guy was boring enough that I found myself having to read paragraphs over again due to my lack of attention.

My opinion is around 2-1/2 Stars. I'm not a fan of serials, so to be fair I'm rounding the rating up to 3-Stars-- because if short series installments don't bother you, you may find the story to be an OK read.
There was good character and plot development in the story... but there was no ending, of course this is written as a series but there wasn’t enough meat and completeness of story to say as a stand alone this is great. Yet I thoroughly enjoyed the story but it left me wishing for some sort of conclusion that did not come. Yet the main character Arianna Rose was brought to life coming to age and awakening of her powers just after her and her mother move to another town (Arianna is more of a mother to her immature mother than her mother is to her.). What starts as an ordinary beginning in another town and another school yet again becomes an adventure as Arianna is faced with a number of obstacles as her power begins to awaken and she realizes the things she can do...

It was interesting enough to read in one sitting, but in the end something was missing- conclusion? I was not drawn in enough to finish the series even after the entertaining read.
